Alma was born on August 7, 1931, to Sam and Alma Jenkins who preceded her in rest. Born second out of nine children: four brothers: Sam A. Jenkins, Mattie Lee Jenkins, Walter E. Jenkins, and Armstic J. Jenkins and four sisters: Henrietta Ellison, Sarah L. Jones, Martha Jenkins, and Mamie I. Burns, all of whom had taken their wings before her.

In 1952, Alma united in marriage to Thomas Jones and had four children of their own. She enjoyed being with her family, housekeeping, visiting and talking to her brothers and sisters, and cooking. As she was known to make the BEST banana pudding. On her free time, she loved to pamper herself, especially getting her nails done and shopping. She would say “I couldn’t do it when I was poor, but I’m not poor anymore.” Her husband, Thomas Jones, and her son, Emmanuel Frank Jones preceded her in eternal rest.

Alma leaves to cherish her memories to her daughters: Vera Elizabeth Hayes and Loretta Jones (Kenneth) Evans, all of Clarksville, Tennessee, and her son, Bernard (Vanessa) Jones and her sister-in-law, Bessie M. Jenkins, all of Franklin, Tennessee. Twelve grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
