Alan L. Scott, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and brother, peacefully departed this life on December 29, 2024, in Clarksville, Tennessee. Born on November 27, 1946, in Culpeper, Virginia, Alan’s journey through life was marked by his deep commitment to family, service to his country, and a steadfast work ethic.
Alan dedicated a portion of his life during the Vietnam conflict to the United States Air Force, embodying the spirit of duty and sacrifice that would shape his future as a devoted husband and father. Following his military service, Alan brought his dedication to public service as a Postal Clerk for the United States Postal Service, where he served with pride and reliability, forging connections within the Washington D.C. area. After his 38 year career with the postal service, Alan drove for the St. Mary’s County government, providing transportation for the senior and disabled community. He loved driving and his love led to his part time job at Hertz Rental Car. Another cherished memory for Alan’s family was time spent attending air shows together over the years.
Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife, Lorretto Scott, son, Paris Scott, and daughter, Tanya Lockett (husband Eric). Alan deeply adored his grandchildren, Eriq and Tariq Lockett, who brought immense joy to his life. His siblings, Randolph, Ronald, and Lynette Scott, will also remember him fondly, as will all those who knew him for his kindness and gentle nature.
