CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Ahvare Galbreath continued his rushing tear Thursday night, rushing for three touchdowns and climbing into the Clarksville High record books while leading the Wildcats to a 31-12 win over Siegel.
Clarksville’s offense is tailored for a physical running back like Galbreath, and he’s exploded with production during his senior season. The back entered Thursday’s matchup with 970 rushing yards through six games and added 175 yards to that total against the Stars.

Galbreath is averaging 164 yards per game, putting himself on pace to become Clarksville’s all-time single-season leading rusher. He needs just 441 yards over the final three games to surpass Dallin Bridges’ 1,585-yard mark from 2012. His dominant rushing performance also put him in good company as the 13th Wildcat to surpass 1,000 rushing yards in a season.

Although the senior has every right to celebrate the individual accolades, he continues to put the focus on the team’s success.
“It feels great. You know, we’re just getting out here, playing ball, being downhill, being physical, giving a lot of effort,” Galbreath told Clarksville Now. “I’m just playing with my team, playing as a family. You know, we’re trying to make a big run in the playoffs. You know, we’re just playing with effort.”
Powerful offensive line
Galbreath has the tools to be an elite running back, but he also has the pieces around him to be successful. In particular, Clarksville’s offensive line found plenty of success against the Stars’ defensive front.
De’nerio Harding has been a key piece of that front five for the last two seasons and continued to create opportunities for Galbreath to run.
“He’s getting downhill, putting people in the dirt. I see him rolling over people’s faces, you know, just doing his thing,” Galbreath said.
Quarterback Harrison Smith
The Wildcats have another weapon when it comes to running the football. Sophomore quarterback Harrison Smith is unique because of his ability to block. When Galbreath gets the ball, Smith is often leading the way and giving Clarksville an extra blocker.
Clarksville head coach Isaac Shelby told Clarksville Now that Smith’s buy-in has been a major reason for the Wildcats’ success.
“He’s really strong. He’s smart, and he’ll do anything for his team. So he can throw it. He can run it, he can block, he can, you know, he could probably kick if we asked him to. He’s just a good overall athlete, always has been,” Shelby said.

What’s next for Clarksville High
Behind Galbreath’s rushing attack and the extra blocks from Smith, the Wildcats have won five straight games. Although they took care of a tough Siegel squad, things don’t get easier from here.
Clarksville has Shelbyville and Antioch still ahead, with the Antioch matchup potentially playing a major role in the region race.
Although Thursday’s win was impressive, Shelby is waiting before letting himself get too confident.
“It doesn’t give me confidence, but it might get the kids confidence. So, we’ll kind of see how that goes. You know, I don’t really know. It’ll be interesting. I guess I can answer that in a couple weeks.”
