CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – The Action Gymnastics building just off West Dunbar Cave Road was on fire Friday afternoon.

At 2 p.m., the entire front half of the building appeared to be on fire.

Ronald Hall, owner of Living in Faith and Fitness Everyday gym, which is also in the building, was the one who discovered the fire.

“I was sitting there eating my lunch when I heard I some popping noise,” Hall told Clarksville Now. “I went through the doors to go to the Action Gymnastics side, and that’s when I saw flames. I ran and grabbed my fire extinguisher, but the flames were getting too big for me to handle, so I called 911 and got out of the building as fast as I could.

The fire was called in at 1:42 p.m., and CFR arrived to find flames and smoke visible from the street, according to Clarksville Fire Capt. Michael Rios.

The metal shell roofed building is probably a total loss, with fire and smoke damage, Rios said.

Clarksville Fire Rescue was at the scene with four trucks.

No injuries were reported, and everyone got out safely, Rios said. CFR was still investigating the cause.

As of 2:45 p.m., Industrial Drive was closed to through traffic. Mercantile Road was accessible. Drivers were urged to avoid the area and seek an alternate route.

Lee Irwin and Jariel Jimenez contributed to this report.
