Academy Sports surprises 30 military families with back-to-school shopping spree

CLARKSVILLE, TN – As another school semester approaches, Clarksville’s Academy Sports store provided Special Forces Association Chapter 38 with a $3,000 gift card donation to benefit 30 children of active-duty soldiers with a back-to-school shopping spree.

With the donation, each child received a $100 Academy gift card and the opportunity to shop alongside members of Special Forces Association Chapter 38.

Chapter 38 is a subordinate chapter to the National Special Forces Association, a non-profit (501c-19) veterans’ organization for current and retired Army Special Forces soldiers. Established in 1964 at Ft. Bragg, N.C., with 88 chapters located in the United States as well as Panama, South Korea, Germany, Thailand, Okinawa and the Philippines, Chapter 38 is the Association’s second largest chapter.

Academy is proud to partner with SFA Chapter 38 to help these children gear up for their back to school and back to sport needs.
