CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – An abandoned dog has been rescued and taken into custody by Montgomery County Animal Control.

According to Animal Control Director Jeanette Farrell, the agency received a call about the dog Aug. 14. The Great Dane mix had been abandoned at the Riverview Cemetery Aug. 12 sometime after 7 p.m.

Animal Control officers responded immediately and found a very scared Great Dane mix type dog with multiple injuries cowering in the bushes.

Animal Control is looking for the individual who abandoned the dog. The suspect’s vehicle is described as a 4X4 brown pickup truck with raised suspension on 38 inch tires.

The dog is currently at the shelter under protective custody. Anyone who has information can contact Animal Control at 931-648-5750.
