CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Law enforcement are investigating a double homicide that occurred Thursday evening in Clarksville.

On September 5, officers responded to a shots fired call at a Dandelion Court residence. Upon arriving officers heard gunfire from inside the garage.

A man and woman outside of the residence were struck by the gunfire. The woman was on the porch and the man was in a neighbor’s yard.

Officers used tactical shields to approach and removed the woman from the porch to awaiting medical personnel. The woman was pronounced deceased at the scene. The man was transported by Lifeflight in stable condition to a Nashville hospital.

At the time, police suspected the shooter was still inside the house. Clarksville Police Tactical Unit and Crisis Negotiators were called to the scene.

Due to the proximity of the house to Tiny Town Rd, a portion of Tiny Town Rd was shut down for public safety with assistance from Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and Tennessee Highway Patrol.

Shortly before 1:00 a.m., the Tactical Unit made entry inside of the residence and found a man, believed to be the shooter, deceased inside of the garage.

Tiny Town Rd has been re-opened for normal traffic flow and the crime scene is being processed.
