CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The inaugural Clarksville Half Marathon, 5K, and 1-Mile Race was held downtown on Saturday, with 850 people in the running.

The Half Marathon started in downtown Clarksville, followed Riverside Drive along the Cumberland River, passed through Liberty Park and McGregor Park, and continued onto the Austin Peay State University campus, then finished with a race down Franklin Street.

Prizes were awarded to the top three male and female winners of the Half Marathon and 5K races.

The overall winner was Nick Regas, and a friend who tagged along, Jacob Russell, was the unofficial winner of the 5K. Russell was only there because he drove his buddy Nick to the event up and supported him. But he decided to do the 5K at the last minute – too late to register and get a number. He ended up finishing first with time of 14:55 by his watch.

At the finish line, there was a celebration featuring music, food and beer from Star Spangled Brewing Co. The event was emceed by Ryan Ploeckelman of Q108.

This article will be updated with the race results when available.
