ADAMS, Tenn. – Franklin Luppe Sr has been located safely after a two-day search throughout the Adams, Tennessee area.
Luppe, 83, was found approximately one mile from his home on Wednesday morning according to a report from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office. Other than suffering from dehydration, Luppe appeared to be in good health and spirits.
More than 100 people from multiple law enforcement and first responder agencies, along with volunteers from the community, assisted in the search, which covered a 9 square mile area around Luppe’s home on North Stroudsville Road.
Luppe was found be a team of volunteers led by K9 Deputy Vallejos with eh Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office. One of the volunteers head a noise in an area covered by tall grass near a creek. Upon investigating, the group found Luppe.
“The response to this entire event unfolded very quickly,” said Montgomery County Sheriff John Fuson. “All of our emergency responders and volunteers worked tirelessly and seamlessly together and we couldn’t be more proud of that. We are also proud to have been able to bring Mr. Luppe safely back to his family. Thanks to everyone involved for a job well done.”
Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office offered their thanks to all those that assisted in the search, including Montgomery County EMS, Montgomery County EMA, East Montgomery Volunteer Fire, Cheatham County Sheriff’s Office, Cheatham County EMA, Pleasant View Police Department, Robertson County Sheriff’s Office, Tennessee Highway Patrol Air Support, Austin Peay State University GIS, and the Tennessee State Park Rangers for their assistance.
