CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Thanks to copious amounts of snow and ice, most of last week’s basketball games were canceled. So instead of the Clarksville Now Player of the Week, we’re going to take a look at some of the best single-game performances in Clarksville-area basketball this season.
1. Hankemeier outscores Eagles with 40-point double-double
Ellie Hankemeier is a problem. If you haven’t watched Rossview High girls’ basketball this year, you’ve missed this forward putting up video game numbers. They included a 40-point, 16-rebound, six-steal, and four-block performance on Jan. 16 against Northeast, where she outscored the Eagles by herself. Hankemeier is currently first in the state in rebounds a contest.
2. Hines “Clutch Gene” powers Coyotes over East Nashville

Kamden Hines is a freak athlete forward for the West Creek Coyotes, and he showcased that on the court in the Cobras’ Christmas classic against East Nashville. Hines scored 17 points in the fourth quarter alone, totaling 27 on the night, for a win at the buzzer against the Eagles.

3. Hassell delivers Christmas present

Two days before Christmas, Clarksville Christian girls forward Lauren Hassell said the presents are coming early. Hassell delivered 37 points and 15 rebounds against Huntington Prep en route to a blowout 61-36 win in the Centurions Clash.
4. Garnett breaks 2-day-old scoring record for Kirkwood
The Cobras opened their season with a 70-63 upset win on Nov. 18 over Providence Christian Academy, one of the top-ranked teams in the state. Guard Armani Smith set the single-game scoring record at Kirkwood High with 38 points, so we will give him his flowers, but he held it for only two days. On Nov. 20, guard Bryce Garnett sank eight triples en route to a 42-point night, setting a new scoring record in an 85-67 win over Lawson High. Needless to say, Smith will be chasing to see if he can grab the record back from his buddy.
5. Vance says I’ll do it myself to win on Warfield Boulevard

In the rivalry game between the Lady Wildcats and Lady Hawks on Jan. 9, buckets were hard to come by. Only 55 total were scored between the two teams, and 24 of those were by Clarksville High guard Shakiah Vance. Vance was the only Wildcat to score in the second half, scoring 19 in the final 16 minutes of the 33-22 win over their rival Rossview.
6. Dillard’s double-double in one half lifts Hawks over Vikings
Twenty-one points and 11 rebounds are one heck of a stat line for a full game. Rossview forward Israel Dillard did that in one half. In the second half in Rossview’s home game against the Vikings on Jan. 5, Dillard was dominant on the glass, pushing the Hawks to a 65-57 win. Dillard finished the night with 30 points and 17 rebounds.
