CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – This past weekend, area wrestlers hit the mat at various tournaments to earn their spots at state later this week.
Most area boys wrestled in the sectional tournament at Antioch High School, but Montgomery Central went to Millington Central High School instead.
All of the girls competed in their regional tournament at Bartlett High School (girls do not have a sectional). The top four at each event qualified for the state tournament.
When the dust settled, 11 area girls were crowned as region champions (out of a possible 12) and 36 will advance to state. Meanwhile, four boys finished in first, with 22 making the cut for state. Here’s the full rundown on which wrestlers move on and where they finished:

At an individual tournament, wrestlers still score points for their team as a measure of which program does best overall.
At the boys’ sectional, Wilson Central ran away with first place at 207.5 points, but Clarksville High finished second with 104. Rossview claimed third with 89.5 points.

Girls Regional Team Points
Clarksville-area schools continued their tradition of dominance at the girls tournament.
Rossview placed first with 220 points, while Clarksville High came in second with 199. Montgomery Central claimed third at 141 points and West Creek rounded out the top four with 101.
Clarksville Academy Boys
Being in a different division entirely, Clarksville Academy’s boys already had their state tournament this weekend.
Both Jack Catellier and Landon Ray capped off the season with appearances at the big dance, but neither medaled.
What’s Next
Boys and girls will both compete at the Williamson County Ag Expo Park in Franklin.
Action kicks off Thursday at 2:30 p.m. and continues all day Friday. Championships start at 2 p.m. on Saturday. Parking is $5, while tickets are $15 at the door and $12 on GoFan.
