CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – A special Christmas event has been going on in for more than 15 years now: the 5 Star Media Group Toy Drive.
“The Clarksville community has been so generous over the years and has made Christmas happen for so many area kids. We need your help again this year,” said Ryan Ploeckelman, operations manager for 5 Star.
The 2021 holiday event is going on now and will wrap up on Saturday, Dec. 11, when everyone in the community is invited to stop by Walmart on Wilma Rudolph Boulevard and drop off a new, unwrapped toy.
You can also stop by one of our sponsor drop-off locations around town through Dec. 10.
- Amity Salon, 55 North 1st Street, Suite 200
- The Youth Academy, 901 Professional Park Drive and 751 S. Gateway Plaza Blvd.
- Appleton’s Harley Davidson, 2501 Highway 41A Bypass
- All Smiles Family Dentistry, 132 Hillcrest Drive
- Action Air, 868 Kraft St.
- C4 Entertainment, 15858 Fort Campbell Blvd., Oak Grove, Kentucky
The toys will be given to children in the Clarksville, Hopkinsville and Fort Campbell area through help from Sanctuary Inc., Toys for Tots, Homeffa Foundation, Crisis211, Radical Mission Compassionate Ministries-Warm Souls Christmas, and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Clarksville.
If you prefer, you can make a monetary donation at the 5 Star office, 1640 Old Russellville Pike between 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday. Those donations will be turned into a toy for a deserving youngster by a 5 Star Media super shopper.
Shavaun Clouse, promotions director for 5 Star, said kids deserve to be happy, and toys can help fill them with joy.
“For kids that are struggling with situations and the places they are in, this might be the only gift that they receive all year long. So I think it’s important for us to be a part of that and make sure that it happens,” Clouse said.
