CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – With the beginning of the new year, 5 Star Media Group is growing its business and expanding brands, and it’s about to add a ninth radio station to the family.

Clarksville Now is part of the 5 Star Media Group, which also includes Q108, Beaver 100.3 and six other local radio stations.

It’s been a busy few months at 5 Star. With the promotion of former morning show host Ryan Ploeckelman to Operations Manager, Q108 has introduced the new “Sari and Tom in the Morning” show, featuring Clarksville newcomers Sari Rose and Tom Dupree.

And with the arrival of new morning co-host Mandi Michaels, Beaver 100.3 has introduced “Fletch and Mandi: The Beaver Country Morning Show.”

Amid all that, 5 Star launched Clarksville’s Best, a hugely successful new contest in which residents vote on the best restaurants, shops and more from over 150 categories. That’s now grown to Pennyrile’s Best, a new sister contest hosted by Beaver 100.3 to showcase businesses in western Kentucky.

Meanwhile, ClarksvilleNow.com has grown to over 2 million page views per month, with an average of over 23,000 daily users, and it’s on the cusp of having 100,000 Facebook followers.

Coming soon, there will be a new, ninth radio station in the family: NewZee 105.5/1400, Clarksville’s News Talk. The station will feature national and local news, plus some of talk radio’s favorites.

“We are proud that Clarksville Now has become a trusted local news source,” said Katie Gambill, 5 Star general manager. “We’re excited to add radio to that with a local news talk radio station, to give even more options to our listeners and local businesses.”

5 Star Media Group, created in 2000, is owned by Saga Communications. In addition to Q108 and Beaver 100.3, local stations include Z97.5, Rewind 94.3, Sunny 99.1, ESPN Clarksville, Outlaw 100.7 and EZ 99.9.
