CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Alcohol Beverage Control Agents of the Clarksville Police Department’s Special Operations Unit conducted compliance checks on 21 businesses May 7.

These checks targeted the sales of alcohol to persons under 21 years of age. Sixteen of the businesses were found to be in compliance and five businesses were cited for sales of alcohol to persons under the legal age, according to Lt. Steve Warren.

In each case, the employee who sold the alcohol was issued a criminal citation and the business was issued a summons to appear before the beer board.

In an effort to prevent the sales of alcohol to underage persons these types of operations are ongoing. Agent Steinlage and Agent Lee are the lead investigators.

The following businesses were cited:

• El Tarasco (1412 Ft Campbell Blvd)
• China King Palace (2088 Lowes Dr)
• New South Café (2243 W. Lowes Dr)
• Minit Mart #164 (2690 Trenton Rd)
• Tropicana Restaurant (233 Tiny Town Rd)
