CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – About half the candidates on this year’s Montgomery County Primary sailed through without opposition. In many cases, winning the Republican nomination means they’ve also won the office, with no opponent in August.

Here are the candidates who made it onto the March 5 Clarksville-Montgomery County ballot uncontested.

Circuit Court Judge, Part VI, Republican Primary

Highway Supervisor, Republican Primary

  • Jeffery H. Bryant Jr., incumbent, also unopposed in August.

“The next four years is going to be a lot different than the previous four,” Bryant told Clarksville Now Tuesday night. “The previous four were getting in there and understanding the policies that were going on, how we can change those and how we can make those better. The next four years is continuing with the changes we have made and identifying more safety projects to implement whether those are intersection improvements, road widening projects, sidewalk paths – so we can make the community more walkable in the rural areas. … It’s humbling knowing that this election, there wasn’t someone that came up wanting to change what we did the last four years. I am thankful for that.”
