CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The fourth annual SEED Summit was held at the DoubleTree by Hilton Clarksville Riverview on Friday, drawing entrepreneurs, small-business owners and local leaders for a day filled with educational sessions, networking and more.
“SEED Summit is a once-a-year event for small businesses. We have two different tracks that we run,” said Ashley Jackson, assistant vice president, marketing at Planters Bank, which hosts the event. “We have general sessions, and then we have tracks for existing and new businesses.” Jackson said the event is open to both bank customers and anyone interested in starting a business.

This year’s SEED Summit focused on financial literacy and business strategies, with Eric D. Coleman, a retired business executive, leading a session on financials.
Featured speakers included Erika Sinner, founder and CEO of Directorie medtech agency, chief empathy officer of TinySuperheroes and author of “Pets Are Family”; Rosemary Calcese, a real estate attorney and founder of Transformation Title & Escrow; Sarah Whitaker, owner of Williams Advertising and chair of the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce Small Business Policy Council; and Chris Wooldridge, an instructor in the Arthur J. Bauernfeind College of Business and director of the Center for Economic and Entrepreneurial Development.
The event had two small-business panels. The first focused on marketing tips to help businesses grow. The second featured local bankers and business owners sharing their experiences and advice.
