4-year-old dies from gunshot wound

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Clarksville police officers were dispatched to the 2600 Block of Arthurs Ct. in response to a reported gunshot wound Sunday around 5:46 p.m.

Upon arrival they discovered 4-year-old Eldin James Rogers had been shot in the chest. He was transported via LifeFlight to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he later died.

The preliminary investigation has shown that the child gained access to a loaded handgun and accidentally shot himself.
