CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The high school basketball regular season for all Clarksville-area schools has come to an end as teams prepare for postseason play.

This season has been filled with upsets, unlikely heroes and domination from top-level student-athletes. Here are the top storylines heading into the postseason.

1. Year of the underdog?

Throughout the 2023-24 season, teams in District 14-4A battled for the upper hand in the regular season.

In the end, West Creek High boys’ basketball secured the number one overall seed in the district tournament thanks to a district record of 5-3. However, just to showcase how close teams were in the standings, first place and last place were only separated by two games.

As district play continues to heat up, can the Northwest Vikings or Kenwood Knights upset the Coyotes in the postseason?

2. Can Kirkwood pull off the unthinkable in their first year?

In their first season of play, the Kirkwood High boys’ basketball team managed to capture the number two overall seed in their district tournament thanks to consistent play.

Their lone two district losses of the season came against Rossview High, the number one overall seed in the district, who they fought for hand-in-hand.

How far can this young team go in the postseason?

3. Can Clarksville High stay perfect?

The Clarksville High girls’ basketball team hasn’t lost a game since March 2023. The Lady Wildcats currently sit at 23-0 on the season, with a district record of 8-0.

Clarksville High is led by Clemson women’s basketball commit Imari Berry, who was just recently named a class 4A Miss Basketball finalist for the third consecutive year.

Under head coach Brian Rush, the Lady Wildcats will look to finish what they started last year in the state tournament as they look to complete a perfect season of play.

4. What girls’ basketball team makes it out of District 14-4A?

With Clarksville High and Rossview possibly looming in the region tournament, which girls’ basketball team can make it out of the district 14-4A tournament?

Northwest enters the tournament as the number two overall seed as Kenwood and West Creek look to battle their way through their scheduled opponents.
