NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Four people were hit by a car Saturday night on Interstate 24 west in south Nashville.

It happened after two cars crashed near the Briley Parkway exit at mile marker 54 just after 9 p.m.

Metro police told News 2 the passengers of one car were standing in the roadway to assess the damage when another car hit them.

A passerby who stopped to help was also hit.

Three of the victims were taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, two with critical but non-life threatening injuries.

The passerby was taken to TriStar Southern Hills Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

None of the victims’ injuries have been released at this time. Further details were not immediately released.
