CLARKSVILLE, TN – Hockey players with 3ICE will descend on the F&M Bank Arena Wednesday for the first big ice event for the main rink at the new arena.
3ICE is a three-on-three, bracket-style, single-elimination series of games featuring two eight-minute periods with a running clock.
In the first game of the two-game first round, Team Patrick, coached by hockey legend Craig Patrick who led the 1980 U.S. Men’s Olympic Hockey Team to a gold medal, will meet Team Fuhr, coached by Hall of Fame and Stanley Cup Champion Grant Fuhr. In the second first-round game, Team Murphy, coached by Stanley Cup Champion Larry Murphy, faces Team Mullen, coached by Stanley Cup Champion Joey Mullen.
The winners of the two first round games will compete in the finals, with the other two teams facing off in a consolation game. The 3ICE season culminates with the Patrick Cup Championship at Wells Fargo Center, home of the Philadelphia Flyers of the NHL, on Saturday, Aug. 12, at 1 p.m.
The tournament in Clarksville begins at 7 p.m. Tickets are on sale at 3ICE.com.
