CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Clarksville Police Department celebrated the retirement of Detective Ronald Parrish, a respected member of the city’s law enforcement team.
On Feb 29th, with a room full police officers and friends, Judge Goble officiated an informal retirement gathering and Detective Parrish was presented a certificate of retirement by Chief Ansley.
Detective Parrish had over 18 years of experience with the Clarksville Police Department.
It was clear from the laughter, cheers, and testimonials from co-workers that Detective Parrish was respected and by supervisors and co-workers alike. He was considered an easy going, consummate professional.
Detective Parrish started his career with the Police Department, December 2001 after completing a successful military career in the U.S Air Force. He started out as a patrol officer and was selected to be a Detective in 2003 where he excelled, solving numerous cases over his years as a detective.
One story was told by a fellow detective who said that Detective Parrish helped solve one his cases by helping identify a possible suspect by his eyebrows. The investigation led to a confirmation that the man identified by Detective Parrish as the suspect responsibl
e for committing the crime.
Detective Parrish reached the mandatory retirement age with the Clarksville Police Department. He was dedicated to the police department and the community which he served.
He volunteered to help organize the police department’s sponsored pee-wee football team which he coached for 13 years, ultimately, achieving a league championship team.
Detective Ronald Parrish will be missed by his friends and co-workers at the Clarksville Police Dept.
