WOODLAWN, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Three dogs and six puppies died in a fire in Woodlawn on Wednesday morning.

The property owner, Calvin Jackson, told Clarksville Now that three adult dogs and six puppies – only about 9 weeks old – died in the fire. The dogs were in kennels inside the garage. Two other dogs and a cat survived.

Jackson said he’s suspicious about the cause, since there was no electricity to the building and there were no candles or flames nearby. Baggett said the cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Responding were Woodlawn Volunteer Fire Service, Montgomery County Fire Service, EMA, EMS and Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.
