ALCOA, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) — The U.S. Geological Survey has recorded a 3.0 magnitude earthquake in East Tennessee early Monday.

The earthquake struck at about 4:00 a.m. EST near Alcoa, which is southwest of Knoxville.

There are no reports of any damage or injuries, though aftershocks are possible over the next several days.
