CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – (CLARKSVILLENOW) Have you ever been to a pageant where all of the contestants were winners? If you haven’t, you should have been at the 2nd Annual Buddy Ball Pageant Friday night at Montgomery Central High School.

Over two dozen members of the Buddy Ball Special Needs Athletic League took the stage vying for the titles of King and Queen, Duke and Duchess and Prince and Princess. With a theme of Lights, Camera Action, anyone age 3 and up in the community with a disability could be a contestant in the pageant.

At the end of the night the judges made their decisions and crowns were presented to the King & Queen, Fabian Merriweather and Allison Dodson, Duke & Duchess, Drake Rodriquez and Dailene Sanford, and Prince & Princess, Angel Castro and Jessica Ann Sanford. Most photogenic went to Gretchen Stedman.

The crowns and sashes were presented by Buddy Ball Director, Ms. Margaret Davis and Mistress of Ceremonies for the evening Ms. Gena Albertia. The pageant was organized by Ms. Kim Patterson, Special Projects Coordinator for Progressive Directions Inc.

Buddy Ball Special Needs Athletic League, a division of Progressive Directions Inc. (PDI), gives individuals with an intellecutal and/or physical disability the opportunity to play sports regardless of their abilities.
