CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – The Clarksville Association of Realtors® Young Professionals Network (CAR YPN) has awarded 27 students with the 2019 Mike Groves Memorial Scholarship.

The CAR YPN raised money through its hugely successful Handbags for Hope fundraiser to fund this scholarship. In 2018, $42,167.60 was raised specifically for this scholarship.

This scholarship was established in honor of the late Mike Groves, who was a member of the Clarksville Association of Realtors from 1991 until his passing in 2015. In his 24 years with CAR, Mike served in dozens of leadership roles, including CAR’s primary REALTOR® Code of Ethics instructor. He was named REALTOR® of the Year in 2001, and was elected to serve as President in 2000 and 2015.

“We are thrilled, as a network of driven young professionals, to be able to use Mike Groves’ memory to give opportunities to local high school graduates to further their education,” said Michelle Lochner, 2019 CAR YPN Committee Chair.

The 27 scholarships were awarded to graduates of Montgomery County, Stewart County, or Fort Campbell schools who exhibited exemplary academic accomplishment and extra-curricular involvement in the community. Each student will be formally recognized at their individual Senior Awards ceremonies by CAR YPN leadership.
