Bobby Earl Rorie, 80, of Cedar Hill, TN, died on Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at Spring Meadows Healthcare. He was born on March 12, 1933 in Indian Mound, TN to the late Wilbur Rorie and Edna Earl Tucker Rorie.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2013 at 1 p.m. at Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Chapel with Brother David Royalty officiating. Burial will be in Smith-Austin Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 8, 2013 from 2-7 p.m. and Saturday, November 9, 2013 from 11 a.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.

Bobby was a chemist with the Tennessee Department of Transportation. He was a Korean War Veteran. He also served eight years on the Cheatham County School Board and taught one year with Moore County School System. He was a 1959 graduate of Austin Peay State University.

He is survived by his wife, Clara Atkins Rorie of Cedar Hill, TN; three daughters, Rita (Greg) Rorie Vann of White Bluff, TN, Donna Rorie of Cedar Hill, TN, Lydia (Steve) Hamel of Keller, TX; favorite brother, William (Betty) Rorie of St. Louis, MO; three grandchildren, Lauren (Eric) Brown, Joshua Schultz, and Bradley Hamel; and best friend, William (Buster) and Sara Rawdon of Nashville, TN.

Pallbearers will be Bobby Bowers, Laurent Purdy, Greg Vann, Eric Brown, Steve Hamel, Mark Rorie, Joshua Schultz, and Bill Rorie. Honorary pallbearers will be family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Nashville Rescue Mission or any charity of your choice.
