CLARKSVILLE, TN – Rising Phoenix Initiative is proud to announce our first Veteran Women’s Warrior Retreat, which will be held from August 15th through the 18th. We are accepting online applications now at www.facebook.com/risingphoenixinitiative or www.risingphoenixinitiative.org. A copy of your DD-214 will be required, and we will select six applicants and two backups for this 2024 Retreat.
The 2024 Women’s Warrior Retreat has been designed to help veterans begin their healing journey. We know and understand that PTSD related to MST is a behavioral health issue that fully impacts some veterans’ daily lives. So, we have gathered a group of facilitators certified in Nursing/ Health Care, with education comprised of Mental Health, Trauma, and Addiction Counseling, Guided Breathing, Meditation, and Yoga Practice. We want our warriors to know they are in a Safe Place, surrounded by fellow veterans and survivors.
Rising Phoenix Initiative was founded in 2020 by Jessica Breznican, a US Army Veteran and PTSD and MST survivor. Her experiences and advocacy led her to form a Non-Profit Organization dedicated to helping others who have endured the same traumatic events. Meet our team: Vice President: Beverly Hale-Loeffler, Secretary: Zach Breznican (Army Veteran,) Treasurer: Kimberly Hammon, Historian: Max Knox (Army Veteran,) Public Relations: Tessie Austin (Army Veteran.) Social Media: Rhonda Seymour, Safety Officer: Nathan Austin (Retired Army) Advocate: Donna G. Chandler, Becca Knox, and James Green.
While attending our all-inclusive Retreat, veterans will participate in yoga/ meditation, equestrian therapy, canoeing, therapeutic art expression, a gun safety class, and so much more. Upon leaving our Retreat, our Warriors will have counseling services set up with the Cohen Center and continued support from Rising Phoenix Initiative. We want to provide tools for our Warriors to incorporate into their daily lives and anticipate that our retreat will be the stepping stone to the start of their healing journey.
We would also like to announce that our Third Annual Charity Concert will be held in October 2024. All proceeds will fund RPI’s mission. Please be sure to watch for updates.
