PRINCETON, Ky. – Kentucky State Police (KSP) are currently investigating a fire in Princeton, Ky. that killed a child.
The fire occurred Friday at 10:35 p.m. in a travel-trailer on Bright Hill Road.
The preliminary investigation revealed that Brandon Hayes, 28, Princeton, and his three children Eric, 8, Dorian, 4, and Marley, 2, were sleeping in a travel-trailer when the fire started. After the fire was extinguished, Marley was found dead inside the trailer.
Eric was flown to Vanderbilt for treatment. Mr. Hayes was transported to the Caldwell Medical Center where he was treated and released. Dorian was not injured.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. However, it is not suspicious in nature and foul play is not suspected.
KSP Investigator Scott Steward is continuing the investigation.
