CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Two Clarksville teens, ages 16 and 17, were arrested in Nashville after a witness reported seeing them commit an armed robbery, and one of the teens was out on bond with a homicide charge.

On Monday night, a witness saw the pair committing an armed robbery on Edmondson Pike, and they were seen leaving the scene in a gray Honda Insight, according to a news release from MNPD.

The car was later spotted by detectives on Harding Place, and the detectives blocked the vehicle in a parking lot.

The teens ran from the scene, the release said. Officers caught them and were able to search the car. They found a short-barrel AR-15 rifle and a Smith & Wesson 9 mm handgun.

Both teens were charged with evading arrest, theft of a vehicle and juvenile handgun possession, the news release said.

The 16-year-old, identified by Metro Nashville Police as Damarrian Kelly, was out on bond with a Clarksville homicide charge stemming from the double shooting in August at 9th and Shearor Street that left one dead and another injured, according to Clarksville Police spokesperson Scott Beaubien.

The 17-year-old was not identified.

Their booking photos are being withheld pending further investigation into possible robberies, MNPD said.

Correction: CPD issued a correction of their news release: Kelly’s bond was set at $150,000, not $250,000. This article has been updated.
