Update: Initial reports to police indicated there were two victims, one male and one female, Beaubien said. However, it now appears there was only one victim, an adult male.

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Two people were shot Wednesday night in downtown Clarksville.

At about 10 p.m., Clarksville Police responded to the shooting in the area of Main Street and University Avenue, according to police spokesman Scott Beaubien. Officers found one woman and one man with gunshot wounds. They were transported to Tennova Healthcare-Clarksville, and their condition has not been released.

At 11 p.m., several CPD officers were on the scene.

Anyone with information or who may have witnessed the altercation is asked to call 911 immediately.
