Update: 2 p.m.: The victim from the shooting on Manning Drive has died from his injuries, and police have opened a homicide investigation.
Detectives with the CPD’s Special Operations Homicide Unit and the Crime Scene Team are investigating the shooting and processing the scene, Beaubien said.
CPD will be withholding the victim’s name until the next of kin notifications are made.
Update, 1:20 p.m.: Pisgah Elementary School was temporarily placed on a lockout due to police activity near the school, according to a message sent out to school families from Principal Jami Skevington.
“This standard response is out of an abundance of caution, and there is no active threat to the school,” Skevington said in the message.
The lockout was lifted shortly thereafter. Pisgah Elementary is about 1/2 mile away from Manning Drive.

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Two shootings were reported on Thursday morning in Clarksville, with one leaving a person injured on Manning Drive.
At 11:49 a.m., Clarksville Police received a call about a person being shot and lying on the ground, according to a news release from CPD spokesperson Scott Beaubien.
The victim has been transported to an area hospital and his status is unknown at this time, Beaubien said. CPD requested the public avoid the area of Manning Drive until the scene can be cleared.
The other shooting happened at about 11:34 a.m. on Wallace Boulevard, but no one was injured as a result, the news release said. It is uncertain if the two shootings are related, Beaubien continued.
There was no other information available.
