Update, 11 a.m.: One of the people police rescued from the house, an older man, had to go to Tennova Healthcare-Clarksville later in the morning be treated for smoke inhalation, Rios told Clarksville Now.
Investigators have determined that the fire was caused by the failure of an electrical outlet on the front porch, Rios said.

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – A north Clarksville home was heavily damaged in a fire early Thursday morning, and two occupants of the home were rescued by firefighters.
At 3:57 a.m., Clarksville Fire Rescue responded to the fire on Grassmire Drive, off 101st Airborne Division Parkway.

When firefighters arrived, one person was outside, Assistant Chief Michael Rios told Clarksville Now.
Firefighters went around the house to survey the situation, and they saw movement inside. They found two people inside trying to put out the fire. Firefighters went in the house and pulled them out, Rios said.
The two who had been inside were checked at the scene, and all three family members were safe, Rios said.

The fire appears to have started on the porch. It then went into the attic and through the roof, Rios said. The cause is under investigation.
The American Red Cross is assisting the family.
CFR units from Stations 5, 6, 7 and 1 responded, along with Montgomery County EMS.
