CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Two Tennessee men have been sentenced to 28 years in prison each for a 2011 killing during a home-invasion robbery on Bunker Hill Road.
The U.S. Justice Department said Tuesday that 26-year-old Michael Massey of Lexington and 27-year-old Demario Winston of Clarksville pleaded guilty on May 29 to conspiracy to commit Hobbs Act robbery and use of a firearm in a crime resulting in death. Massey also pleaded guilty to a separate count of Hobbs Act robbery in another case and was ordered to pay $17,000 in restitution.
The Justice Department said in a news release that the defendants had been told that a large amount of cocaine and cash was stored in a safe in the basement of the Clarksville home.
Raul Triana, one of the occupants of the home, was shot and killed.
