Update, 2:10 p.m.: Clarksville Police have released more information about the crash early this morning that killed two people.
At 2:18 a.m., a 2012 Chrysler 200, driven by 28-year-old Rahim Perry, along with his passenger, 21-year-old Breshaun Fortson, was traveling southbound on Peachers Mill Road when it went through a red light at 101st Airborne Division Parkway, police spokesman Detective Michael Patterson said.
The Chrysler hit a commercial tanker truck that was traveling westbound on 101st Parkway.
Both Perry and Fortson died as a result of their injuries, Patterson said.
This is an ongoing investigation.
Update, 7:45 a.m.: The intersection is now clear and has reopened, CPD has confirmed.
Update, 7 a.m.: The intersection of 101st Parkway and Peachers Mill is still closed.
Police have said the intersection is likely to be closed for several hours.

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Two people were killed in a wreck on 101st Airborne Division Parkway Friday morning that has shut down the road.
At about 2:30 a.m., a Chrysler 200 convertible wrecked with a commercial tanker truck on 101st near the intersection of Peachers Mill Road, according to police spokesman Detective Michael Patterson.
“This intersection is expected to be closed for several more hours, which will greatly impact morning traffic,” Patterson said. “Drivers, please seek alternate routes.”
