CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Two men have been charged with first-degree murder and kidnapping in a 2017 home invasion on Hundred Oaks Drive that left one dead.
Last month, the grand jury indicted Mathew Kenneth Bryan, 36, of Clarksville, and Timothy Labrone Williams, II, 30, in the shooting death of 34-year-old Christopher Lane, according to court records obtained by Clarksville Now.
According to Clarksville Detective Michael Patterson, Williams was arrested on April 22 in Spring, Texas by the US Marshals, and then extradited back to Clarksville Tuesday and served with the indictment.
Bryan was served the indictment while incarcerated in the Montgomery County Jail on unrelated charges.
Each been charged with one count of first-degree murder, two counts of aggravated kidnapping, two counts of especially aggravated kidnapping, one count of aggravated burglary and two counts of criminal attempt.
On Nov. 7, 2017 around 10:04 p.m., two armed men entered the home on Hundred Oaks Drive though a back door and confronted four occupants; then gunfire erupted.
The armed men took items from the home before fleeing.
Police found Lane with a gunshot wound to his torso inside his home. He was taken to the hospital in critical condition and died several hours later.
The records also reveal that during the invasion, Lane’s father, Lonnie, was shot at several times, and two others in the home were held against their will while being threatened with a deadly weapon.
Days afterward, CPD asked for the public’s help in identifying the suspects.
