CHEATHAM COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) – A man and woman face several charges after the Cheatham County Sheriff’s Office found they had drugs near children.
Cheatham detectives and drug agents arrived at their residence Friday to assist a probation officer where drugs were suspected being around small children.
After needles and heroin were discovered next to a baby’s bed, a bathroom door was discovered locked with the lights out.
Kevin King and Ashley Gay were barricaded in the bathroom, according to deputies.
When investigators ordered them to come out, the door opened as deputies had their weapons drawn. Deputies allege the two forced a six-year old child to open the door.
King and Gay were subdued, and deputies found needles in the bathroom as well.
Both were charged with violation of probation, possession of heroin, possession of drug paraphernalia, and reckless endangerment.
They are currently in the Cheatham County jail and the children are in state custody.
