Fort Campbell, KY. – Family, friends and fellow soldiers welcomed home five soldiers from the 1st Brigade Combat team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Sunday, June 14. The Welcome Home Ceremony included the Brigade Commander, Colonel Robert Campbell and Brigade Command Sergeant Major, William Forro.
The unit’s colors were also uncased at the ceremony signifying the brigade’s return from their combat deployment. The “Bastogne” soldiers deployed to Afghanistan last fall in support of Operation Resolute Support where they advised and assisted the Afghan National Army. The ceremony was held at the 101st Division Headquarters.
