1SG (ARMY, Ret.) Mark Alvin Williams, age 77, passed away on May 17, 2021.
Mark was born on August 17, 1943 in Prescott, AR to George and Martha Williams. Mark served in the United States Navy for six years and retired from the United States Army after 20 years of service. After his service in the military, he also served as a Texas State Probation officer. He became a Christian at the age of 13 and most recently attended Community of Hope Church. Mark loved reading, running and playing games.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Carlos Bueno and brother, Albert Williams. He is survived by his wife of 11 years, Patricia Williams; children: Jason Williams, Iris (Tecomus) Musgrove, William (Joan) Hill, Anthony (Paula) Hill, Kenneth Brown and Kimberly (Tom) Williams; siblings: C.H. Williams, Georgie Peterson, Martha Garrison and many more loving family members.
A celebration of life service will be Thursday, May 20, 2021 at 12 p.m. at Sykes Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Kentucky Veteran’s Cemetery West, where full military honors will be rendered. Pastor Jeremy Duranceau will officiate. The family received friends on Wednesday, May 19 at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Gideon’s or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
