CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW)- A Fort Campbell soldier has been reunited with his beloved dog after waiting almost a year for her to come home.

Eric Galvan said he picked up Emma when she was six weeks old and she would sleep in the pocket of his sweater.

Galvan was scheduled to deploy when he lost his dog Emma. He says he searched months and finally stopped because he thought she was gone.

However, he did not change his phone number in hopes that someone else would find her.

Galvan received a phone call this week from Montgomery County Animal Control saying that his dog was found by a few kids on the side of a road.

Because she was chipped, Animal Control was able to locate Galvan.

After celebrating being reunited with her owner, Emma grabbed treats from a box and brought them to Galvan.

When asked what it meant to be reunited with Emma, Galvan said, “I’m reunited with my baby, she is my little girl.”
