CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – A 19-year-old man was shot and killed Monday after a gun was discharged in his direction.
Clarksville police responded to the scene Monday around 5:43 p.m. at Durrett Village Apartments (160 Stateline Road). When they arrived, they found the 19-year-old with a gunshot wound to his torso. Another person was attempting to give him first aid.
Police said a 24-year-old man was attempting to clear a Glock handgun and discharged the gun. The 19-year-old was shot in the torso area.
The victim was taken by LifeFlight to Vanderbilt where he later died.
The investigation is ongoing. No other details have been released.
