CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – A 19-year-old is in custody on charges of aggravated kidnapping and burglary after police said he broke into a woman’s home and held her at gunpoint.

On Aug. 20, Clarksville Police responded to the 200 block of White Oak Road where a woman reported that an unknown man entered her residence and pointed a gun at her. According to the affidavit, the victim told police he restricted her movements throughout the residence while he held her at gunpoint. The suspect stole two pistols before leaving.

Investigators obtained surveillance footage from inside the woman’s home that showed the man wearing a dark colored hoodie and sagging pants. CPD detectives obtained additional surveillance footage from the same day of the crime that shows Damarrian Russell wearing a dark hoodie and sagging pants, similar in appearance to the clothing observed at the scene.

Additionally, police learned that Russell had a court order to wear a GPS ankle monitor as a bond condition. The historical GPS location data from Russell’s ankle monitor revealed he was at the scene when the crime occurred.

Russell was arrested on Sept. 18 and charged with aggravated kidnapping, aggravated burglary, and possession of a firearm with intent to go armed during the commission of a dangerous felony.
