CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – A 19-year-old Clarksville woman has been charged with vehicular homicide and leaving the scene after a crash that killed a man on June 16.

At about 7:50 p.m. that night, two vehicles were “traveling at an excessive speed” on Peachers Mill Road when one vehicle left the roadway and crashed into a utility pole near Allen Griffey Road, according to previous reports. A red sedan, initially thought to be a Ford Fusion, left the scene, continuing northbound on Peachers Mill. 47-year-old Huey Johnson died as a result of his injuries.

Fatal Crash Team investigators along with CPD’s Intelligence Unit worked to identify and locate the second, non-contact vehicle, which proved to be a maroon Kia K5, according to police. The driver, 19-year-old Briana Golden, was located and interviewed on June 24.

The August session of the Montgomery County Grand Jury indicted Golden on charges of vehicular homicide, leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death, reckless endangerment, reckless driving, driver to exercise due care, and speeding. She was arrested Aug. 13,
