LYNN GROVE, Ky. — Kentucky State Police responded to a cockfighting event Saturday night and discovered more than 30 dead gamecocks, according to WKRN News 2.
It happened off of Protemus Road in Lynn Grove at around 7:20 p.m.
Police found 22 people on the scene, 19 of which were cited for cruelty to animals.
Thirteen of those cited are from Middle Tennessee.
A camper and trailer on the scene were used to house the gamecocks. More than 35 live roosters and hens were turned over to the Humane Society of Calloway County.
