CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – A Montgomery County grand jury has indicted a now-18-year-old man on a second-degree murder charge in a 2024 domestic-related shooting on Timberline Way that left a 16-year-old girl dead.
According to a January 2026 indictment returned in Montgomery County Circuit Court, Brison Louis Grant is charged with second-degree murder in the death of Bra’Anna Harbison. The indictment alleges that Grant “unlawfully and knowingly” killed Harbison.

The charge stems from a shooting reported at 8:57 a.m. on June 20, 2024, at 1942 Timberline Way. According to previous reports, Clarksville Police responded to a shooting-in-progress call and set up a perimeter in the neighborhood off Ringgold Road.
When officers entered the home, they found two people with gunshot wounds. Harbison was pronounced dead at the scene. Police said the 16-year-old male suspect shot Harbison and then shot himself. He was flown to Nashville by LifeFlight helicopter and was initially listed in critical condition.

Police later determined the shooting was domestic-related and said at the time that homicide charges were pending. Grant was initially charged with criminal homicide, which was later upgraded to second-degree murder, according to court records.
Neighbors described a chaotic and frightening scene that morning. Next door neighbor Melinda Smith previously told Clarksville Now she initially thought she heard fireworks around 9 a.m. before realizing the sounds were gunshots. “I could tell he was running for his life,” Smith said of a neighbor she saw outside as shots rang out.
The grand jury returned a true bill on the charge Jan. 6. The case remains pending in Montgomery County Circuit Court.
