CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – (CLARKSVILLENOW) Hundreds of Clarksville-Montgomery County elementary students filled the Foy Center at Austin Peay Saturday for the Clarksville City Saver Mega Party to celebrate the success of the recent Clarksville City Saver coupon book fundraiser.
Over 400 elementary students who sold at least seven of the City Saver coupon books were invited to the party which featured food, games, inflatables, prizes, laser tag, and a video game truck.
Tom Beach with City Saver presented a check for $170,000 to Abby Binkley, Executive Director of the Clarksville-Montgomery County Education Foundation for their part in the fundraising efforts.
Binkley talked about how the funds will be used to support the school system. “The money will be sent directly back out to the schools that it was funded from. They can spend it however they see fit in their school. It might be for computers, copy paper, classroom supplies, maybe a new program or initiative they want to start in their school. The schools get to use it as they choose,” said Binkley.
