HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – A 15-year-old boy was injured in a drive-by shooting Thursday morning in Hopkinsville.

According to WKRN News 2, Hopkinsville police were called just after midnight to a reported shooting in the 900 block of Younglove Street.

Officers said someone in a vehicle fired at least one shot from a rifle and a bullet hit the juvenile victim in his right foot.

The 15-year-old boy was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center for treatment of injuries that were not considered to be life-threatening, police said.

Investigators said it appeared the gunman was targeting someone other than the victim.

Witnesses described the vehicle involved as a black Chevy Trailblazer.
