CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The 15-year-old who was shot at a store on Peachers Mill Road Sunday night has died from his injuries. He has been identified as Ikehliayon Hite of Clarksville.

At approximately 5:42 p.m. Sunday, Clarksville Police received a 911 call regarding a shooting that had already occurred, according to a news release from police spokesman Officer Scott Beaubien.

The caller was calling from a location on Stonecrossing Drive, stating his passenger had been shot. When officers arrived, they found Ikehliayon with a gunshot wound, but it was determined that the shooting occurred at Chum’s Discount Tobacco Store, 811 Peachers Mill Road, Beaubien said. Ikehliayon was transported to Tennova Healthcare, where he later died.

Ikehliayon was a student at Northwest High School, according to CMCSS spokesman Anthony Johnson. “Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends,” Johnson said.

Citizens in the immediate area of Chums Market are asked to check their video surveillance cameras beginning around 5:30 p.m. to see if they notice anything suspicious. Anyone who witnessed the incident or has information or additional video footage, please contact Detective King at 931-648-0656, ext. 5280.
