ORANGE BEACH, Ala. – (CLARKSVILLENOW.COM) After a couple of weeks off, the 11U Clarksville Orioles took a trip down to Orange Beach, Alabama to compete in the USSSA World Series.

The week didn’t exactly start off like the coaches and team would have liked it to, but when all the dust settled, the Clarksville based team came home with the hardware.

Head Coach Matt Sundstrom said he was very proud of the way his team battled adversity. “We started a little slow due to the fact that we haven’t played in 2 weeks since our last tournament win, but we were able to get the bats going on Thursday and we never looked back.”

The Orioles won 5 games in a row after losing 3 really close games.

“It says a lot how tough these kids are. They never quit. They always play hard. They are a very special group of kids who all have an extremely bright future ahead of them.” Sundstrom said.
