FORT CAMPBELL, Ky. – Family, friends and fellow soldiers will gather for a ceremony to honor Command Sgt. Maj. Ian Griffin as he transfers responsibility of the “Lifeliner” brigade to Command Sgt. Maj. Michael J. Perry.
The ceremony is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m., Friday, Nov. 6 at Division Parade Field.
Command Sgt. Maj. Ian C. Griffin took command of 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) Sustainment Brigade in April 2014. During his time as the brigade command sergeant major, Griffin helped lead the Brigade on its deployment to Liberia and Senegal in support of Operation United Assistance as well as its first ever rotation at the Joint Readiness Training Center in Fort Polk, Louisiana.
Throughout his tenure, Griffin worked to strengthen the brigade’s warfighting capability through increased emphasis in Air Assault training and leadership development.
Despite having disparate units from the brigade deployed around the world throughout his tenure, he fostered a spirt of cohesion and teamwork at all times.
