FORT CAMPBELL, Ky. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Soldiers assigned to 1st Brigade Combat Team, “Bastogne”, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) will participate at the annual Austin Peay State University Military Appreciation game.
Approximately 60 soldiers will unfurl the flag during the opening ceremony of the game scheduled for Feb. 1, at 3 p.m.
Additionally, Col. Robert Born, 1BCT commander, will recognize a soldier for his efforts during the brigade’s deployment to Iraq and Syria in support of Operation Inherent Resolve.
APSU and the soldiers of 1 BCT have a strong community partnership and continue to conduct events together within the Clarksville and Fort Campbell community. The brigade has spearheaded various initiatives with members of APSU to include a leadership development conference providing mission command concepts, joint workouts, and professional lectures.
